ONCE UPON A TIME

With long horns, a shaggy body, sharp fangs, and a long lolling tongue, the krampus is a fearsome figure, but he actually works for jolly old Saint Nick. European folklore says that Saint Nicholas employs the krampus to help him keep tabs on children’s behavior. Where St. Nick rewards nice children a gift and a sly wink; Krampus punishes naught children with a switch and a fearsome sneer.

On December 5, 2015 St. Nick will unleash a krampuslauf (“krampus run”) through the arts district as the krampusen search of both good & bad children of all ages. Fear not, though, because professionally-trained krampus wranglers will be on hand to make sure that the beasts are held at bay. If you see the krampuslauf approaching, simply ask one of the friendly wranglers for help. If you’re a “NICE” child you will receive a free magical elf hat that will protect you from krampus’s wrath. If you’re “NAUGHTY” ask for a set of horns, but watch out because krampus will be coming to “punish” you— though he may let your loved ones snap a quick picture to remember you by before he drags you kicking and screaming to his lair.

We invite you to join us in ringing in the holiday season with the this year's NoDa Krampus Krawl!
